A few words from the artist:

"I draw my artistic inspiration from old masters, the early impressionists, as well as traditional Chinese figurative paintings.  Being an immigrant artist, I have a unique opportunity to reflect upon my birth culture as well as my adopted country of America. A significant goal of my work is therefore to explore and compare human values."

A few words from the artist:

"Can Art still be true? Can Art still be beautiful? Can life still imitate Art far more than Art imitates life (as Oscar Wilde once said)?
Amongst the violent changes and the everyday revolutions, I still believe that Art will not progress (unlike technology). Art for me is the perfection of human expression, and human nature has neither changed nor developed much. We still contemplate the same ideas – which Plato, Confucius, Buddha and Jesus explored over two millenniums ago – about life and mankind. The “old” Art that moved me when I was little moves me still. Beyond this haphazard surface of postmodernity, I am to pursue the Unchanged Art.
J. M. Coetzee, Nobel Prize laureate in literature, once commented on writing: “Grasping the world as it is, putting it within a certain frame, taming it to a certain extent, is quite enough of an ambition.” His words describe my current vision for painting.
